Why pay for a budgeting app?

Free apps require manual work

Spreadsheets and free budgeting apps put the work on you: import CSVs, re-categorize transactions, rebuild your budget every month. Athena automates all of that. You get the result — a current, accurate budget — without the maintenance.

The cost pays for itself

At $6.67/month, Athena costs less than a single overdrawn transaction fee. If staying on budget helps you avoid one late fee, skip one impulse purchase, or pay down debt faster — the math works out in the first month.

No commitment required

30-day free trial, cancel anytime, no annual lock-in required. The monthly plan exists for a reason — start there if you want to try before committing to yearly.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when my trial ends?+

At the end of Day 30, your selected plan begins and your card is charged. You will receive a reminder email 7 days before your trial ends. If you cancel before Day 31, you are never charged.

Can I cancel anytime?+

Yes. Cancel at any time from your account settings. If you cancel during the trial, you pay nothing. If you cancel after the trial, you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Does Athena store my bank credentials?+

No. Athena connects to your bank via Plaid, a bank-grade data network. We never see or store your banking username or password. Plaid uses read-only access — Athena cannot move money.

What banks and accounts are supported?+

Athena supports thousands of US financial institutions via Plaid, including checking, savings, credit cards, and investment accounts.

Is my data secure?+

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Bank connections are read-only via Plaid. Athena does not sell your data.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly?+

Both plans include everything — there are no feature tiers. Yearly billing costs $80/year ($6.67/month), saving you $52 compared to paying $11 × 12 = $132/year monthly.
